Training Certification

Although certification of mediators is not required in any state, some contracts require proof of mediation training that conforms with virtue-based programs or universal principles of natural law.

We now offer a certification program that provides an endorsement of your work as mediator schooled in the blending of Spiritual Precepts and Transformative Mediation. It should be noted that some States require a separate form of certification through a Regulatory Agency, Commission or through the State's Supreme Court in order to qualify for court appointed cases. You would need to contact your local jurisdiction for those requirements.

However, there is an excellent summary of the various state requirements that is offered by the Northern Virginia Mediation Services (NVMS), a secular mediation service within the State of Virginia. That publication is called "Mediation Certification Standards" and can be ordered by calling them at (703) 993-3724. We are not in any way related to NVMS and we receive no portion of the funds from this booklet. It just happens to be a good summary of the various jurisdiction's requirements.

In order to work toward our own Certification Program, the following minimum requirements would have to be met:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Choosing an Approach: Transformative vs. Facilitative Mediation
  • Mediation Skills and Process
  • Integration of Spirituality with Mediation

  • Drafting a Mediation Agreement that Becomes a Personal Covenant

  • Divorce Mediation When There is No Chance of Reconciliation
  • Separation Agreements that allow time for Reconciliation
  • Respecting Religious Diversity in Faith-based Marriage Counseling
  • Mediating Children's Issues in Dispute Resolution
  • Mediation Techniques with Difficult Clients
  • Dealing with Family Addictions: Alcoholism, Drug Abuse, Violence, and Internet Pornography
  • Developing Homework Assignments that Foster Mediation
