What Makes Each Program Different?

All of the professionals in this program start from the premise that there is a God with a plan for each of His creatures. God, by whatever name you call him, is the architect who has designed us according to his own "blue prints" which serve as healthy guides for living. These "specifications" are the innate or natural laws written on the heart of man.

Each mediator encourages the client to explore God's existence. Discussions on objective truths, the purpose of human freedom, and man's ability to choose his actions, all form a background for each mediation. Clients of all faiths are welcome to this dialogue. Similarly, a client need not be sure of God''s presence, but must at least be open.

Daily communication with God, or prayer, is urged upon each client as he or she explores the human soul or spirit. This program stresses that neither God, nor one's spiritual dimension, are meant to be placed in a box to be opened only on Holy Days. Rather, the creativity and grace that God uniquely imparts can powerfully redeem each moment of life, each broken marriage, and each dispute. However, the client must welcome this divine involvement; God does not force himself on anyone.

In view of these beliefs, the mediation program frequently refers to Judeo-Christian scripture and a broad range of Catholic, Jewish, and Protestant spiritual authors. Yet the program also refers to modern psychology as well as to practical "how-to" books.

If any of this bothers you, then this program may not be for you unless you can be open in the exploration. However, we believe the success of the recovery programs is due to this blended spiritual and physical approach, mirroring the totality of the human person. Therefore, if you opt for this type of mediation, you will hear a great deal about common sense, spiritual values, and objective truth.

If, however, you simply want to punish your spouse or find a legal way to "get at" your spouse, then this program is not for you. Yet if you are willing to try a radical new approach to conflict resolution, we believe that you will find this program a refreshing and replenishing alternative.
